Drivers who have received a traffic ticket through Waco Municipal Court may be eligible to complete an online defensive driving course to dismiss the ticket and avoid negative marks on their driving record. If you have a valid driver’s license, current liability insurance and have not completed an online defensive driving court in the last 12 calendar months, you should be eligible to have the citation from Waco Municipal Court dismissed.
If you are interested in completing a driver safety course, you will need to contact Waco Municipal Court. The court will only accept defensive driving requests by mail or in person within 10 calendar days from the date the citation was issued. Be sure that contact is made with Waco Municipal Court in ten calendar days and not ten working days.
When requesting an online defensive driving course drivers must also submit payment of $109.00 to $134.00. This fee varies depending on the citation, so you will need to contact the court for the exact amount.
Upon completion of an online defensive driving course, you will need to submit two documents to Waco Municipal Court by your due date. You will need to refer to your Order Granting the Driving Safety Course document the court mailed to you for the exact date all documents are due into the court.
