Temple Municipal Court

Texas Online Defensive Driving Course

For those of you who received a speeding ticket or other traffic citation from Temple Municipal Court, be sure to complete a driver safety course (DSC) to dismiss the ticket. A driver safety course will dismiss you ticket and eliminate the possibility of negative marks on your Texas Driving Record.

Temple Municipal Court requires those of you interested in completing the 6 hour defensive driving course, submit a request in writing by the date you are supposed to appear in court. Failure to submit your request could deem you ineligible to take a defensive driving course.

The court does provide pretty straight forward eligibility requirements. Here is a brief list of items which would make you ineligible to complete a driver safety course:

  • Did not appear in court on or prior to court date
  • Currently hold a commercial license (CDL)
  • Cited for leaving the scene of an accident or failing to provide information at scene of accident
  • Caught speeding 25mph or more of the posted speed limit
  • ited for passing a school bus

** These are just a few requirements, please refer to Temple Municipal Court for the full list of items which make a person eligible or ineligible to complete a defensive driving course.

Temple Municipal Court does require a few small fees to request a driver safety course. You will need to contact the court for a full list of those fees. Once you’ve been given the approval for a driving safety course, you will need to register with a license provider such as Defensive Driving Now and complete the 6 hour course for only $25.00. Temple Court will allow you 90 days to complete your online defensive driving course and turn in required paperwork. Your traffic ticket is not dismiss until the judge says so, just completing a course does not dismiss your citation. You will be required to turn necessary documents over to the court for dismissal.

Temple Municipal Court does require a certified driving record to be turned into the court along with your defensive driving certificate of completion. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. You can order a driving record through Defensive Driving Texas and receive your copy through email immediately.
